Delete a Undeletable file in Windows!

You try to delete a file and instead Windows flashes a warning saying that access is denied. There are several reasons why something like this happens. The following are the four steps to delete the file,

Step 1:

The simplest reason for this is that the file is open. For example, if it is a document that you are trying to delete, check to see if Word is using it. Shut down the program and then try deleting it.

Step 2:

Sometimes, though you’ve shut down the application running the file, the program may still be running in the background. In this case open task manager and end the application which you have recently closed.

Step 3:

If the file still remains, then restart your computer and start pressing F8 key when you hear the system beep. Go to safe mode and delete the file.

Step 4:

If you still can't delete the file, then try using this free software. You can download it here "Move On Boot ". Download and install this software and simply drag and drop the file which you want. It will delete it on next system restart.

If you are wishing to create a bootable XP CD to reinstall windows, here is a simple step to create the CD!

1. Download the Software called nLite which will create the Bootable CD automatically. The download link is given below,

3. Install the software and after installing click the nLite icon in the desktop or from the start menu.

7.Make sure to click on the Unattented and Bootable ISO.

If you want to make your folder private, then you will use a software, but in Windows XP, there is a trick to lock a folder without a software!!!. Just follow the given steps below,

1. Create a folder and name it whatever you want. Assume that your folder name is "private".

2. Create a notepad file by Right clicking your mouse > New > New Text Document. Then in the notepad file type the following statement correctly ren private private.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} and save the file as lock.bat in the drive where you created your folder named private

3. Create a another notepad file by following the above steps, then in the notepad file type the following statement correctly ren windows.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} private and save the file as unlock.bat in the drive where you created your folder named private

4. That's it! If you clicked on the lock file, then your folder will link to control panel and your folder contents cannot be viewed, and if you click unlock then it can be viewed normally.

This trick will not work in Windows Vista!

Have you created a database with access? If yes then follow the steps to protect your database,

Normal Protection:

To do this open MS Access, and go to Database Tools in the ribbon menu and you will find "Encrypt with Password" in the upper right corner.

High Protection:

High protection can be done by using work group security requiring a password and a user name.
By applying this security the user can only read the data but not able to change it.

A tricky way to protect your important access project is by changing the extension of the file.
Change the extension to .txt. If you want to view it again then again change it to .accdb.
If you cannot find the extension, then go to My computer >Go to Menu Bar > Tools > Folder Options > View > See Advanced Settings below > Then uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" option.

1. Sign in to your Gmail account.

2. Click on "Settings"

A Worm which Infected 9.5 Million Computers!!!

This worm is also known as Downadup or Kido which was first discovered in October 2008. This worm freely spreads through low security networks, pendrives, and the computer's which does not have the regular updates.

Working Principle of this Worm:

After entering in to the computer successfully, the worm works by searching for a Windows executable file called services.exe and then becomes a part of that code.

It then copies itself into the Windows system folder and creates a file with the extension called
"dll (Dynamic Linked Library)" and then it modifies the registry.

Once the worm is successfully set up it creates an HTTP Server and then downloads files from the Hacker's Website.

The most dangerous feature of this worm is it resets the machines system restore point so that making it very harder to recover the infected system.

Toni Koivunen from F - Secure says that the worm uses a complicated algorithm to generate 100's of different domains every day such as mphtfrxs.net imctaef.cc, etc. But only one of these will actually be the site used to download the hacker's files.

Anyhow the microsoft has released the patch through Windows Update.

But the computer's without the latest security updates are under High Risk.

So Please Update as soon as Possible.

If you are wishing to create a bootable XP CD to reinstall windows, here is a simple step to create the CD!

1. Download the Software called nLite which will create the Bootable CD automatically. The download link is given below,

2. Download the Installer (2.54 MB) from the site.

3. Install the software and after installing click the nLite icon in the desktop or from the start menu.

4. Then click next and locate the drive where you have copied the original XP CD.

5. Then click next and click next one more time.

6. If you a want to integrate some drivers or service pack then click on the options which are available.

7.Make sure to click on the Unattented and Bootable ISO.

8. Then click next and put the Product Key.9. Then click next and click yes to start the process.

10. After the process is complete, click next.

1. Resolution - Change your computer resolution to low state and use it. It will increase your performance of your computer.

2. Startup - Unwanted programs in your computer might slow down your PC. So remove those unwanted programs by using Quick Startup (1.2 MB). To Download Quick Startup Click here

3. Faster Menu Display - Press Windows Logo button + R > Type regedit > Press enter > Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP. On the right pane, you will see a option called MenuShowDelay. Double click on it, and change the value to 0.

4. Font - Delete unwanted fonts by following the below steps,

Go to your hard drive where your operating system is installed.
Go to Windows Folder.
Go to fonts folder & delete the unwanted fonts. ( Don't delete the fonts which are colored in red ).

1. Select the folder you want.

2. Then right click on it then select rename, then press and hold the alt key, while holding the alt key type 0160 through the right side numeric key in the keyboard and not on the top side.

How to View the Administrator Account in Welcome Screen!

Windows XP doesn't show the administrator account in welcome screen at startup, but if you are an administrator and wishing to log on using the administrator account, then use the following registry tweak to bring it to the welcome screen,

1. Open Run Command.

2. In Run Command type"regedit"

3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\Userlist and then create a new DWORD entry and name it as Administrator and change its value to 1.

4. Reboot the computer to take effect,

5. If you dont want the administrator option in the startup then change the DWORD value you created to 0.

What to do if the folder options in your computer is not seen?

Sometime you will overcome this strange type of problem, that your folder options will not be seen, it is actually disabled by malware or other virus.

To correct this problem you have to do some tweaks, so follow the steps correctly,

1. Open Run command and type "gpedit.msc"

2. Now go to User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Component> Windows Explorer.

3. In Windows Explorer you will find the third option on the right side of the screen "Removes the folder option menu item from the tools menu". Just double click on it and click on "Not Configured" and click Ok.

4. After restarting the computer you will sure find the folder options in the Windows Explorer.
